This sketch is based on some studies that I did on a summer trip to Acadia National Park in Maine. Otter Cliffs is one of the most iconic spots on the Maine Coast, with some of the more dramatic sea cliffs on the East Coast. Even though the place is crawling with tourists the whole summer, it’s possible to duck down behind a rock and feel like you have the place all to yourself for a while while you work on your painting.
