Chicken studies

$300.00
sold out

2024 | oil on Arches Oil Paper | 5x7 inches

Chickens make difficult subjects due to their constant movement.  This chicken is an amalgamation of about 20 different chickens that I studied over a couple of days during an artist residency.  Oddly, these were some of the most skittish chickens I’d ever encountered, but the painting turned out looking like a confident, no-nonsense chicken.

This painting is sold in a barn wood frame that I purchased at an actual barn sale in an actual barn during the residency when I made this study.
