I started the sketches for this painting while the day was still cloudy, and then when the sun burst through and created these paths of light coming towards me, I figured worse things could have happened.
This painting is sold ready to hang in a handmade, custom frame, made of quarter sawn oak by Dard Hunter Studios in Ohio. Since these frames are individually hand-built, the grain of your frame will be unique, and will vary from the one pictured. The painting will ship including the page of accompanying field notes from the painting expedition, as well as the color compositional sketch that I made, both of which are part of my process for engaging with a place and developing a painting.
